Meet the Maker
Hello, my name is Alison.
I live in Derbyshire with my Fiancé, daughter and our bonkers Cockerpoo.
I learned the art of silversmithing in my spare time at a small, local, and independent workshop. Learning many techniques to make such beautiful and unique pieces. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. I am always building on my knowledge and skills to then bring this into my future pieces, I love it.
I now have my own workshop that has grown larger over the years as I explore more techniques.
Brand Story
Jewellery by Alison Breedon started and continues to exist on Etsy. I have made over 500 sales on that platform and received wonderful feedback for my work. This has driven my passion to create my own website.
As well as Jewellery making, I work at the local college as a tutor delivering apprenticeships to young students. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others. This has inspired me to produce training materials for budding silversmiths – this will be coming soon as an exciting addition to my website.
Quality
My pieces are designed and created with care using traditional silversmith techniques.
I am registered with Sheffield Assay Office; all my pieces are Hallmarked there to guarantee the metal fineness. This offers you peace of mind that the items are genuine and made from precious metals.
I continuously work to gain new skills and knowledge. I am an active member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers and The Guild of Enamellers.
Ethos
Throughout the jewellery making process, I am mindful of my ethical and environmental responsibilities. It is my endeavour to continue to work towards sustainable practices.
I use ethically sourced and reclaimed materials to make my pieces. My silver is 100% recycled silver. My precious and semi stones are sourced from reputable suppliers.
My green gift boxes are made from recycled materials, sustainably sourced, Biodegradable, and recyclable.
My shipping boxes are made from recyclable corrugated cardboard.
The tissue paper is made from environmentally friendly materials and can be recycled.
