Caring for your Jewellery
General care
- Wear on dry skin, perfumes and lotions can tarnish metal. Take jewellery off before doing your skin care routine.
- Avoid harsh chemicals when cleaning.
- Avoid bumping or knocking against hard surfaces. This could cause scratches to metal or damage to precious stones.
Cleaning your jewellery at home
- Be gentle.
- Wear gloves or mitts.
- Don’t use harsh chemicals, just warm soapy water.
- Use a soft polishing cloth.
- Stubborn tarnish can be removed with equal parts white vinegar and water. Soak the item, brush gently with a toothbrush, rinse and dry.
Jewellery Storage
- Store in an airtight box.
- Away from direct sunlight to avoid discolouration.
- Store separately from other items to reduce tarnish and to prevent chains from becoming tangled.
- In a room that is dry and is Low humidity.
